When sending email, why not encrypt and sign it?
OpenPGP allows people both to encrypt and digitally sign emails, so that you can guarantee that the message is from whom you think, and has not been tampered with. Those unfamiliar with OpenPGP can take a look here for an overview or here to get OpenPGP working with your email client.
My OpenPGP key can be downloaded from the Ubuntu keyserver (amongst others). The fingerprint should be D4DE 5ABD E2A7 2876 44EA C7E3 6D1A 9E70 E19D AA50. If you want me to sign your key, given the appropriate checks, I'll be happy to.
